The Proper Concepts Collective is adding a unique twist to its portfolio of restaurants, such as Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh, The Feather Blade, and RAPPU Handroll Bar, with its latest concept: Granny Q Penang Lemak Laksa. This authentic Penang-style laksa, which features a spicy coconut milk broth infused with fresh aromatics like mint leaves, torch ginger, cucumbers, and pineapples, is a partnership between the Proper Concepts Collective and Granny Q Lemak Laksa, a family-run restaurant located in Pulau Tikus, Penang.

The Heng siblings, who founded and run Granny Q Lemak Laksa, have been serving their hearty recipe passed down from their grandmother, Granny Kew (Granny Q), since the early 1920s. The Proper Concepts Collective's rendition of Granny Q Laksa stays true to the original recipe, with core ingredients imported directly from Penang. The menu offers two versions of the laksa, the Signature GQ Laksa and the Supreme GQ Laksa, the latter featuring additional luxurious seafood toppings.
